Constitution exists to protect us from government.

Why do people trust government officials to handle duties that are outside the powers granted to Congress in the US Constitution?  People should be skeptical of government officials, and all of their false promises, because the history of the world is one of despotism and one in which the government exercises control over the population.  Personally, your liberties are never safe so long as our freedoms are subject to a mere majority in Congress.  The reason we have a US Constitution is to protect the public no matter what kind of dummies are elected to Congress.

Americans never supported Obamacare

Americans never supported Obamacare.  Why would they support a law that takes away their health care, raises premiums, raises their deductible, and results in workers earning less money in the end.  The problem is that it is extremely difficult to repeal bad laws that are on the books.  In the future, people should not be so willing to listen to the false promises from politicians like Obama.

Obamacare takes away your private health insurance.

Everyday there appears to be a new disaster with Obamacare.  The point of Obamacare was not to provide anyone with health insurance but to place the federal government in charge of health care. That is what Obama has always wanted.  Too many citizens were not paying attention!

Obamacare is not compassionate

Democrats have utter contempt for the American people.  Obama has intentionally supported a law that has taken away the health insurance options for millions of Americans and has replaced it with inferior insurance options that cost a lot more!  How is that compassionate at all?  And this was done on purpose.  Democrats don't want Americans to have choices.  Rather, the Democrats are all about centralizing all control in Washington.  Democrats do not believe in individual sovereignty.  They are all about government.  And government.  And government.

Democrats oppose assimilation

More proof that there isn't real assimilation in the Los Angeles area.

When some lone nut uses a gun for bad purposes, we must ban guns. Muslims from abroad in the US committing terrorism? Nothing to see.

Let’s ban immigration from Muslim countries (with a few exceptions).

Well, now that we know that the suspects in the Boston massacre are Muslims from Chechnya, and were granted "refugee" status at some point, can we now have a new ban on all immigration from Muslim countries (with perhaps an exception for Iran, where, based upon my own intelligence gathering, the majority of the people in Iran are rather non-religious, which is not surprising since the fanatical Iranian regime seems severely out of step with the views of their subjects)? Okay, another exception: if that immigrant and/or visa seeker proves that they are seeking to immigrate to escape the persecution of the Muslim majority...

LAUSD hires incompetent teachers.

There is a bit of irony when it comes to public education.  The public school monopoly insists that government-run schools have competent teachers, but yet, the students keep failing.  How is that possible?

Elizabeth Warren and minimum wage

Democrats always strike me as some of the least informed people on the planet.  For instance, Elizabeth Warren said that the minimum wage should be around $20.  Why?  That is just making the numbers up.  There is no rational basis why the government should create controls on things like this.

What a busy week!

This has been an incredibly busy week: met with Macy, Annie, talked with Angela on the phone, and met with Sean in Orange County (Knotts and Downtown Disney).  I wonder how busy next week will be!

F.A Hayek and Social Security

Yesterday I read F.A. Hayek’s chapter on Social Security in the book, “The Constitution of Liberty.”  In F.A. Hayek’s opinion, the only legitimate form of welfare benefit would be based exclusively on an objective form of minimal need just to live.  Of course, in practice, our welfare state has grown to a point in which, as FA Hayek pointed out, a majority votes itself benefits from the minority who have to pay for it.  As a result, welfare is not based upon supplying some objective minimal need, but rather, is based upon extracting as many benefits as possible.

I reject the welfare state entirely.  One should not be compelled to be made a slave to another person.

Obama suggests federal government creates prosperity.

Obama suggested that the federal government creates prosperity.  Recently Obama said that “you can’t cut your way to prosperity.”  This suggests that the federal government is the source of prosperity in America.

Los Angeles Voters Should Reject Alex De Ocampo for City Council

On March 5, 2013, Los Angeles city voters will elect a new mayor and residents of Los Feliz will be electing a new council member to replace termed-out Tom LaBonge in district 13.  The city of Los Angeles has a lot of significant issues to handle such as a public sector pension crisis, massive budget deficits, crumbling roads, corruption in city hall, and other government failures.  Sometimes a political race comes down to who not to vote for.  There is someone you should not vote for under any circumstance and should be laughed out of the public spotlight:  that person is Alex De Ocampo, who is running for city council in district 13.  I went to high school with Mr. De Ocampo and know him personally.  I am his friend (on Facebook).  Based upon my experience with him, I have found that his ideology is utopian statism and is absolutely incompatible with the principles of a free society.  His solutions are government centered at a time period in which government failures are all around us.   He is not skeptical of any stance that will increase the power and reach of government and he is only skeptical of the private sector.  He does not believe in individuals, but merely groups of people who are to be nudged, punished, coerced, or pushed from government edicts.  To Mr. Ocampo and his ilk, it is a completely foreign concept to think that individuals can look out for their own interests without a bureaucrat dictating the minutia of every part of life . Even as a utopian statist, he is a remarkably shallow and superficial person.  A quick look at his Twitter account at twitter.com/Alexdeocam79 will show Tweets that lack any attempt to even persuade people to his view.  He was a member of the Greater Griffith Park Neighborhood Council.  His experience as a member of the Greater Griffith Park was basically as a seat warmer.  I read the minutes from the Greater Griffith Park meetings and it is clear that, aside from being late occasionally to meetings, he did not say anything remotely meaningful in improving our community.  Nor did he propose any policy that can be even remotely beneficial to our community.  In fact, it appears that even he knows that he was useless: his web site merely lists his membership on the board and does not list a single accomplishment!  Aside from his general uselessness as an officeholder on the Greater Griffith Park neighborhood council, it is clear that he represents the type of politician who tries to win a seat merely to get bored and get elected to the next office.  Haven’t we had enough unqualified, incompetent, and ideological nutty hack politicians?  Just say no to Alex De Ocampo this March 5, 2013.

Diane Feinstein hates the U.S. Constitution

Democrats hate the U.S. Constitution.  They are being upfront and personal about it.  U.S. Senator Diane Feinstein basically wants to ban every gun she can imagine.  She does not want Americans to be free.  She envisions a world in which the federal government has an unlimited amount of power to do whatever it wants.

Democrats support getting rid of the U.S. Constitution

Democrats are starting to let their mask off and they are not even pretending to care about the U.S. Constitution.  Democrats have long ago given up on any attempt at amending the U.S. Constitution because they know that they are not able to comply with the amendment process (2/3 vote in Congress, 3/4 of the state legislatures).  Instead, Democrats are trying a new strategy: getting rid of the U.S. Constitution in order to get to the tyranny that they support.

Obama raised everyone's taxes...

Obama raised everyone's taxes recently. I am sure he will continue to raise taxes.
