Liberty has returned to America, at least temporarily. A federal judge ruled that Congress does not have authority granted by the US Constitution to regulate individuals who choose not to partake in interstate commerce, either directly or indirectly. If Congress had the authority to compel citizens to purchase products from private companies, then the limits of the federal government will have been completely eviscerated. Interestingly, the federal judge noted that the Obamacare law does not have a severability clause. He wrote: “Because the individual mandate is unconstitutional and not severable, the entire Act must be declared void. This has been a difficult decision to reach, and I am aware that it will have indeterminable implications.”
Great day to be an American!
