Long Beach Infected with Liberal Mental Disorder

Michael Savage once said that Liberalism is a Mental Disorder. Now we're seeing the proof of how mentally deranged the liberals are. Wal-Mart is one company that has done far more for the poor than any impotent liberal program has ever accomplished. The prices at Wal-Mart stores are significantly lower than many other retailers. Yet, big-city politicians do not like the idea that many of their poor residents can have a place to go for quality products at cheap prices. The city of Long Beach is the latest city to show signs that it is run by people with a mental disorder. In order to protect overpaid, lazy union workers (and people too dumb to realize that working at a shopping center is not meant to be a lifelong career), the city of Long Beach has written a law that would prohibit Wal-Mart and equivalent stores from selling groceries. Yes, my friends, the biggest enemy to our cities is big-box stores selling groceries at cheap prices. God forbid, some people might stop going to the unionized (and overpriced) supermarket chains such as Albertsons, Vons, and Ralphs and head over to Wal-Mart. We can't let that happen. The poor have to pay more for their food because we have to protect the wealthy Big Labor contributors. If this isn't a signal of a mental disorder, I don't know what is.

Well, unfortunately, the problem is that the Democrats have pushed through legislation that far exceeds the "necessary and proper clause" and have done so with the intention of entrenching their power within the government. Social Security, for instance, far exceeds any power delegated to Congress, but there is no reasonable chance that any politician could run on abolishing the program by immediately paying every current participant a one-lump sum in order to close the pyramid scheme once and for all. Social Security is very anti-American because it is a system designed to give Americans the misguided notion that someone else will take care of them when they are old. The right system would be for Americans to take care of themselves.

Liberals Attempt to Mislead Public About the Enemy

Rosie O'Donnel, the terribly dull and unfunny host of "The View," which has about twenty female viewers in the home for the aged somewhere in Illinois, said recently that Muslim extremists are no different than "radical Christianity," whatever that means. Perhaps O'Donnel is suggesting that a religion that preaches love of one's neighbhor is "just as extreme" as one that was capable of providing textual support to the notion of killing innocent human lives. It's quite unfortunate that Ms. O'Donnel has decided to harp on this point. But it is yet again an indication of how the left really hates America. Instead of focusing on the real enemy -- radical Islam, Rosie has decided to focus on a non-existant enemy: "radical Christianity." Perhaps we have not spent enough time observing the news, but we have no recollection of Christians attempting to destroy and burn embassies; fly planes into buildings; and assisinate individuals who criticize the religion. Modern liberalism is all about interrupting a war effort against the rightful enemy--radical Islam, and pointing towards a problem that does not exist, in an effort to demoralize the war movement and confuse the public. Thankfully, there is no chance that the public could get confused by Rosie's rants.

Is it time to imprison treasonous Members of Congress?

Is it not clear yet that the Democrats are willing to undermine our country? Every single day decent Americans have had to listen to the perverted cries of petulant Democrats complaining about the war in Iraq. Never before in our history has the country had to deal with a fifth column party that demoralizes the people, telling them that the future is no better than the past, and that, if elected, they will win through defeat. In a perfect world, President Bush would have the authority to arrest and imprison those who engage in treason, from the top down, including Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Harry Reid, as well as foul-mouth hedonists porkists such as Michael Moore. The country deserves better. If we do not tolerate terrorists abroad who terrorize our nation through efforts to undermine our strength, it would be incumbent upon our executive leaders to take action that Lincoln used to imprison Members of Congress who actively take part in routing for the enemy.

Democrats have routinely stated that they are upset when people call them "unpatriotic." This defensive posture that they exhibit reminds us of the truism that one is most hostile when an unfortune truth is being projected. For instance, would Stephen Hawking respond with condemnation if someone said he was a dullard? Or would George Will even take a moment to respond to the absurd notion that he is a poor writer? However, the notion that Democrats are unpatriotic simply resonates quite well with the general population. This is what people believe when they think of Democrats.

That is one reason why Jane Harmon today stated on CNN that she thinks that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is a "bad guy." Well, if there is a need to say it, there must have been some doubt that the Democrats actually hate our enemy.

So what have the Democrats actually have done to harm our country?

- They have opposed the idea that we should be able to listen to the phone calls of terrorists.

- Democrats have refused to allow security personnel at airports to even take into consideration whether to provide extra screening if the person's name is Osama or Muhammad, bearded, and chanting verses from the Koran.

- The Democrats have insisted that the terrorists can be reasoned with. Democrats have stated that we must provide these individuals with Constitutional rights--or else these terrorists might really get angry.

- The Democrats have demoralized the American people by continuing to focus on the weaknesses that we have had in Iraq but have simultaneously downplayed all of the successes.

If there is one thing that is clearly noticeable about the Ann Coulter debate, it's that Ann Coulter is hated by the left precisely because she is effective. Ann Coulter is successful at what she does (and she does this through non-coercision--unlike the godless Democratic liberals), and as a result, that is why she must be opposed. I love Ann Coulter.

It is a bit humorous to watch Democrats seek "values voters." Do the Democrats even know what a values voter is? The Democrats have their own "values voters"--but these voters have little to do in common with the Republican "values voter."

The Democrats value abortion as a fundamental human right. In fact, abortion providers are the only business that the Democrats actually love. The Democrats oppose any regulation on abortion providers. There is no other industry that Democrats wouldn't hesitate to support new regulations.

The Democrats think that the IRS is the best institution of the government, and that taxes should be much higher. There is a value in paying as much taxes as one can to the government. That is a Democratic value.

The Democrats value people who do not work. They do not value people who do work and pay taxes (and thus vote for the other party).

The Democrats value failure. That is why they subsidize government schools and the post office.

The Democrats value outright racist malcontents such as Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

Democrats value marriage, so long as homosexuals are the ones marrying.

The Democrats value terrorists--because terrorists, it is assumed, give Democrats a reason to gripe and complaine about what is going on.

The Democrats value the worthless UN institution and believe that the UN should be in charge of our security.
Let's see who will win the values contest.

Democrats promote action plan that will harm America.

Members of the Democratic Party stopped smoking marijuana and having drunken sex with prostitutes to unleash a flurry of new domestic policy proposals.

The initiatives include such banal issues such as:

• increasing the minimum wage (which affects less than 1% of the population, and very few of those who earn the minimum wage are breadwinners. It is time to eliminate the minimum wage),
  
• cutting costs of prescription drugs,* (according to the Democrats, the healthcare system is not socialistic enough, so they must another way to reduce the incentive to produce new drugs);
  
• reducing interest rates on student loans (even though college graduates receive far more in compensation than non-college graduates, the non-college graduates must subsidize the education of the affluent!),
  
• rolling back subsidies for oil companies, and pay-as-you-go budgeting, according to party officials. (BORING!)

None of these measures are likely to attract majoritarian support. This seems to be a rehash of past failed policy proposals. This is just not an electoral position that is fresh and exciting. It sounds stale. For one thing, most people do not make the minimum wage; most people are not students; Joe Sixpack does not care about arcane issues such as "pay as you go" and other wonkish descriptions of federal budgetary issues. Ironically, the idea that the Democrats want to further subsidize prescription drugs, which Congress already did for the old geysors, is hillarious. How many times are the Democrats going to run with this issue?

In general, when someone says something that is truthful, but also happens to be quite harsh and negative, there usually is a flurry of attacks against the truth messenger. (For instance, if someone referred to this author as a “crooked garbage man,” he would likely laugh as he is neither crooked nor a garbage man). However, when Ann Coulter said that liberalism is a religion, this really upset the liberals because they know that this happens to be truthful.

The worst part of liberalism is the taxation policy. In most parts of the world, politicians have recognized that in order to be competitive, tax rates need to be reduced. In America, though, anytime this is tried, the Democratic Party states that this only “benefits the rich.” In some Catholic churches, parishioners cry and bow down to Jesus and his mother, Mary. Democrats, though, scream “tax cuts for the rich”—every time a tax cut is proposed—even though middle-class families overwhelmingly support lower taxes. However, Democrats are terrible at debating skills, largely because they are used to chanting among their fellow parishioners in their church, the Democratic Party. As a result, few are able to actually articulate how tax cuts benefit the rich. Further, many of them are baffled by how the U.S. federal treasury has actually received more tax revenue after a tax cut than before. Of course, religious views should be taken upon faith, not evidence.

The Anti-American Party, sometimes known as the Democratic Party in the mainstream news media, suffered from a major defeat yesterday in Tuesday's polls across the country. Most notably, in California, a state in which liberals claim supports their anti-American agenda, largely repudiated all of liberalism. Here are some examples:

• The idiotic: tax the high-earners to fund illegal alien pre-school initiative. This initiative would have taxed so-called "wealthy" individuals who make over $400,000 a year to pay for the pre-school of illegal alien parents. The initiative lost in a landslide, receiving 60.9% votes against it. The only counties that supported it were San Francisco, where no one has any children, and Alemeda County, home of Berekely (which says everything), and Imperial, where most of the voters were too dumb to read the ballot properly.
• In the race to be the Democratic nominee for Insurance Commissioner (a position that should not even exist), a no-name candidate, John Kraft, received 29.6% of the vote -- without running any ads. Why? He was running against fat slob Cruz Bustamente, a former butcher. Even Democrats know that current Democratic incumbents have no legitimate claim to office.

Most LAUSD Students Headed for Prison; Prison Officials Want to Recruit More Students.

The Los Angeles school system (known officially as the “Los Angeles Unified School District”) has a staff of college counselors to guide students to college. LAUSD school college counselors frequently invite college and university representatives from across the nation to meet with students. Currently, at any time of the year, students are likely to meet and greet with UCLA, USC, Pepperdine, and even Harvard representatives. Members of the U.S. military are also on hand on many occasions to speak to students about life in the military.

Not surprisingly, a state prison, feeling left out of post-graduate recruitment, has asked to be represented on campus, too. Representatives from San Quentin State Penitentiary, a maximum security facility, have asked to be admitted on campus to speak with students about life on its facilities, including its recreational activities, panoramic ocean front views of the Bay Area, eccentric inmates, friendly staff, and nutritious food.

Last fall, San Quentin’s Warden, Jack Anderson, had a private meeting with Los Angeles Unified School District Superintended Roy Romer. Jack Anderson specifically told Mr. Romer that the real truth is that most of the students attending Los Angeles schools will end up being sentenced to his facility for life anyway, and as a result, it would be appropriate for prison officials to be available to answer students questions, provide brochures of the historic facility, and even have field trips.

Mr. Romer appeared rather distraught by the conversation. The LA school superintended interrupted the prison official many times. Mr. Romer said, “Yes, yes, it is true: many of our students will be headed to prison after they graduate from high school. We have gangs and drug dealers. Kids kill each other on our facilities all the time—so it would not be such a radical change for them to live most of their life at San Quentin. However, I am concerned. If we were to invite you onto our campuses, it would suggest that we have a real problem on our hands and that we must fix it. And we do not feel there is any need to reform a school system as great as ours. Yes, most of our students cannot read but know how to pull a gun’s trigger, but the great salaries that our administrators receive in Downtown LA more than makes up for this educational deficiency.”

San Quentin’s Warden understood these concerns quite well. However, Jack Anderson said that the major reason for this recruitment effort is to find a place where most of these students will live once they graduate. “We all know that most of these kids are too stupid to be able to live in freedom and to be able to take care of themselves,” Jack Anderson said. To which Roy Romer responded, “Yes, they are awfully stupid, but if we could convince our brainwashed electorate to cough up another $100 billion to improve our public schools, I am sure that we could get some results.”

Phil Angelides: Tax Raiser

• California Gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides is distinctively anti-Objectivist. Phil Angelides holds the belief that high-income taxpayers in California can be punished and punished and, due to California’s great climate, eccentric population, and remarkable culture, would never leave. Phil Angelides does not believe that individuals who go to graduate (or professional school), spend a great deal of hours gaining experience, and who truly work hard and “play by the rules” (to use a Democratic slogan) should reap the benefits in this state.

• Phil Angelides wants to punish the productive class. Phil Angelidehas promised that his first act as governor would be to punish the individuals who work the hardest, pay the highest share of taxes, and who generate billions in state economic activity. This philosophy indicates that he wants to re-radically re-establish our system of punishment and rewards. Thus, if an individual starts a business, that person must be punished the moment that they become “wealthy” (according to the definition of the elite politicians.).
• Phil Angelides is a closet socialist. Phil Angelides, like many Soviet Union-era politician, holds the belief that government agents ought to control the population by controlling the economic activity of the state. This is exactly what Mr. Angelides wants to do: he wants to raise taxes so that the government, not the private sector, will have more funds. Further, Mr. Angelides wants to channel this money towards the parasitic class. In this particular election, the parasitic class’ pet project is “universal pre-school”—which already exists! (There is a federal program called “Head Start”—which is means tested to ensure that only the rift-raft class is eligible).
  
• Mr. Angelides is a good deal for the parasites, but not for the productive. The same politician who wants to punish the hard working wants to reward the worthless class of parasites. For instance, Phil Angelides believes that the parasites, the rift-raft population, the illegal alien, the gangsters who terrorize our government-run schools, the child rapists, and the unproductive welfare queens should be rewarded. In this present election, Phil Angelides wants to impose an additional 1% income tax on individuals earning more than $400,000 ($800,000, for those lucky enough to be married; perhaps we could call this the ‘discrimination against those who are too ugly, sick, or are too gay to get married’) so that illegal aliens can send their ten kids to pre-school. In contrast, Mr. Angelides wants to lavish these groups of people with more subsidies—even though it will not cause them to be more productive or change their behavior. They will be just as worthless to the state of California as before, but the productive will be harmed.
  
• California’s high income tax rate has chased away the very rich people that Mr. Angelides wants to tax! Venus Williams and Tiger Woods are the most notable high income earners who have left California for state income tax-free Florida. Apparently they were not convinced that they should “sacrifice” their income for the benefit of the parasite class. Income tax rates do affect human behavior. Mr. Angelides is either naïve or stupid if he believes that he can raise tax rates and increase tax revenue. More than likely, the higher tax rates will be a tax loser as the productive class leaves, leaving the middle class on the hook to pay for the voracious appetite of the parasite class. Is there any surprise that Bill Gates lives in state income-tax free Washington state?

Thus, the United States is faced with the unique position of being able to choose which individuals from around the world we wish to admit.

Considering this fact, one would think that the United States would choose immigrants who would substantially improve our economy, political life, and culture. This would include accepting only immigrants who have a college education (or its equivalent), substantial life experience, speak fluent English, have advanced skills or knowledge that is in short supply (science and math), and have a strong desire to become Americanized. There is no shortage of uneducated and unskilled workers. Los Angeles has far too many. It is time that our politicians open up our nation to the skilled and highly educated individuals of Europe and Asia, and to say no to uneducated and unskilled illegals from South America.
